The Olympus Academy Trust is entering an exciting period of growth as we continue to design and develop a twenty first century school education for more and more young people within the districts of Bradley Stoke, Filton, Patchway and the surrounding areas.

We have recently reshaped our Premises team structure to ensure we provide the best possible service to our schools, maintaining our premises to the highest possible standards for the benefit of our young learners and staff.

We are now looking for an experienced and hardworking Caretaker to join our team, carrying out a range of duties to ensure the safe and secure opening and closure of the school.

You will work with the Multi Site Manager to ensure the operation of all site based caretaking responsibilities including the upkeep and maintenance of the school.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate proven knowledge and experience of operating as a caretaker within an Education setting. You have demonstrable understanding and application of Health and safety procedures and be able to undertake all basic DIY tasks, including painting and decorating. Use of domestic power tools for appropriate repair and maintenance tasks will be required.

A good understanding of alarm systems, CCTV and BMS is essential and site specific training will be provided. Previous experience of operating cleaning machinery and equipment and knowledge of the safe and appropriate use of cleaning materials and chemicals is desirable. Application of common sense and the ability to maintain good working relationships with all school staff and visitors is essential.

The post holder will be subject to an enhanced DBS check to satisfy child protection requirements. The post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and all convictions (including cautions, bindovers or no case to answer) must be declared. The post holder has a responsibility to promote and safeguard the safety and welfare of children in accordance with the Trust's child protection and behaviour management policy.

The closing date for receipt of applications is midday on 11th August 2017.
