Multi-Site Manager

25 hours per week, All Year Round

£20,661 to £23,398 per annum (pro rata)

The Olympus Academy Trust is entering an exciting period of growth as we continue to design and develop a twenty first century school education for more and more young people within the districts of Bradley Stoke, Filton, Patchway and the surrounding areas.

We have recently reshaped our Premises team structure to ensure we provide the best possible service to our schools, maintaining our premises to the highest possible standards for the benefit of our young learners and staff. We are now looking for an experienced and hardworking Multi Site Manager to join our team, managing our team of onsite caretakers and carrying out a range of duties which will ensure the safety and security, upkeep and maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment at each of the school premises allocated to the role, with an estimated estate value of £15.5 million.

The Multi-site Premises Manager is integral to the smooth and efficient running of each school in fulfilling its educational responsibilities and in enabling the local community to access the site facilities within the schools agreed policies. Key duties will include:

  • To ensure that all site operations, facilities and work undertaken by the site team are carried out in accordance with the current Health and Safety policy, procedures and best practice and that tasks allocated are within the person’s capabilities.
  • To provide day-to-day management of team members, ensuring duties are carried out to the highest standards, developing staff and providing training as necessary.
  • To design, implement and communicate effective and productive working routines for the site team that deal with the day to day tasks, issues, faults, failures, inspection and testing including programmed work and ensuring that staff are deployed effectively across sites.
  • To negotiate arrangements with contractors and service providers to ensure that planned maintenance programmes and ‘contracted out’ work provides best value for money and are completed as scheduled.
  • To ensure that all maintenance, statutory inspections and testing is completed as planned and that accurate and up to date records are maintained in the site office.
  • To assist the Operations Manager in obtaining quotations and advice from contractors and service providers and to assist in project planning and execution. To support the Business Manager, Operations Manager and contractors in producing risk assessments, methods of work and other health and safety measures that reduce or remove risk from site work or activities.

A good working relationship with the Operations Manager and site team is paramount, there will also be the need to respond to demands from the Business Manager, School Leadership Team and other staff, visitors, contractors and users of the premises. The post holder will be expected to work in a flexible way to meet the needs of the school and of the Trust, combining planned and regular tasks with day to day needs and emergency responses.

The successful candidate will have proven experience of working within a premises role in a school setting and demonstrate understanding and knowledge of the challenges and requirements of such a role. You will hold a minimum of a BTEC/NVQ Level 4 in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional qualification or extensive relevant experience with extensive working knowledge of relevant health and safety and first aid knowledge.

You will be able to work quickly and efficiently and build collaborative and effective relationships with internal and external teams. At the same time you will demonstrate awareness of the education setting you are operating within, understand school roles and responsibilities and be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.
