Finance Assistant

27.5 hrs per week, Term Time only, plus Inset days

£18,070 per annum (pro rata)

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a part time Finance Assistant to join our central Business team. This role is offered on a part-time basis, working 27.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, for 39 weeks of the year (including Inset days), so the actual take home salary will be £11,487 per annum.

Reporting to our Finance Manager, you will provide support to ensure the effective operation of the finance function within the schools, ensuring compliance with legal and financial regulations and the Trust’s financial policies and practice. The main responsibility of the role would be to produce the weekly payment run and assist finance staff across the trust with queries, and key duties would include:

  • To complete the weekly payment run
  • Answering questions from the Business Team staff across the Trust (e.g., questions about how to use the finance system) and reporting issues to the external helpdesk if necessary
  • To assist in administering the finance system (e.g., setting up new suppliers or cost centre codes, adding new users)
  • Processing orders, sales invoices, credit cards for the central team
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Importing data into the finance system from external packages such as sales invoices and salary journals

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s, including Maths and English, at grade C or above and good numeracy skills.

You will have demonstrable competence in the use of a variety of ICT applications including Excel, financial and/or administrative experience, ideally in a business environment and first class accuracy in the balancing and recording of financial information. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
